Fix WaveState USB connection problems if you are working with a windows PC

Maik Schott

If you are working with a windows PC or a Mac and you are having trouble to connect your WaveState to your computer, here is some advice of WaveState users who reported their experiences in WaveState forums. Please note that you are using these tipps or advice at your own risk - plan some time for try and error.

  1. VPN should be turned off - in some cases (running Windows) - users reported, that VPN had been turned on automatically so they had to turn it off each time before connecting.

  2. Try an indepently powered USB hub (your computer might not provide the necessary power for that USB connection) - this seems to be the case on some computers

  3. Sometimes security tools block the WaveState connection as well

  4. If you are a Windows user switch the Network type to RNDIS in the WaveState Utility menu and reinstall the RNDIS driver on your PC

  5. some users report that deinstalling their antivirus program finally brought the success of establishing the connection because the antivirus programm was blocking it believing it attacked the pc system. But if you are a PC user you should definitely reinstall or reactivate the AV after connecting to your WaveState.
Windows 11 has a build in Antivirus called "defender" which does not block the WaveState connection - as a user reported.
